What is a Zimbabwe e-Passport?
The new Zimbabwe e–Passport is almost the same as you old passport but will additionally contains an electronic chip. The chip holds the same information that is printed on the passport details page.
The new Zimbabwe e-Passport was launched in Harare by President Mnangagwa on 14th December 2021.

Frequently asked questions on the new e-Passport
The normal epassport application will be US$100 and the Emergency will be US$200.
Ordinary Passport should come out in 7 days and Express Passport will take 48 hours.
Yes, the current indication as per the deadline of the International Civil Aviation Organisation(ICAO) deadline means all old normal passports might expire by 31st December 2023. This might change if the deadline is moved.
Most likely yes, there will be at least 15 embassies that the Zimbabwe Government will allow in the diaspora for applications.
Early indications are there will be an online option there should still be an Embassy/Consulate or Home affairs biometric enrollment step on site.
